Antalya Airport to Alanya Transfer: Complete Guide 2026

Alanya is the easternmost major resort on the Antalya Riviera — 130 km from the airport, with its famous castle rising 250 metres above the Mediterranean and Cleopatra Beach stretching along the seafront. For tourists flying into Antalya Airport, this is the longest standard transfer route, and the one most people want a detailed answer about: how long does it actually take, what does it cost, and is there anything to know about the road? This guide covers all of it, including sub-zones like Okurcalar and Mahmutlar that most transfer pages don't mention.

Quick Answer

A private transfer from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Alanya costs €160 for a sedan (1–3 passengers) or €200 for a minivan (1–8 passengers). The journey is 130 km and takes 90 minutes on the D400 — Turkey's longest popular resort transfer route. Night transfers (22:00–06:00) cost 30% more: €208 sedan / €260 minivan. Your driver waits in Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall, left side before the automatic exit doors, holding a sign with your name. Price is fixed — no meter, no negotiation.

Distance, Journey Time & Traffic Reality

Alanya is the furthest major resort from Antalya Airport on the Turkish Riviera. At 130 km, the drive covers more ground than Belek and Side combined — and it is the one route where the landscape transforms significantly along the way.

Distances and times:

  • Antalya Airport T2 to Alanya centre: 130 km, 90 minutes
  • Antalya Airport to Okurcalar (before Alanya): 115 km, 80 minutes
  • Antalya Airport to Mahmutlar (east of Alanya): 140 km, 100 minutes
  • Typical journey time: 90 minutes
  • Worst-case (Saturday 09:00–12:00, July–August): 2 hours

The road in three sections:

Section 1 — Airport to Side (65 km): Flat dual carriageway on the D400. The same road that Belek and Side tourists travel. Fast and consistent.

Section 2 — Side to Manavgat (5 km): D400 through Manavgat town. Can have traffic lights and some congestion in summer.

Section 3 — Manavgat to Alanya (60 km): The D400 continues east but the terrain changes. The Taurus Mountains begin to press toward the coast, and from roughly 100 km into the journey the road curves more frequently and has some short uphill sections. Speed limits drop to 70 km/h in several places. This is not a difficult mountain road — it is not comparable to the Kaş route — but it is distinctly different from the flat D400 you started on. From this section, the views of the mountain backdrop are genuinely striking.

Traffic patterns:

July and August Saturday mornings (09:00–12:00) are the most congested. The checkout rotation from the large Belek and Side resort hotels generates the most traffic in the first half of the route. The Manavgat junction can slow to 30 km/h in peak hour. Allow 2 hours for a worst-case summer Saturday arrival.

Outside these peak windows — weekdays, evenings, and shoulder season — 90 minutes is reliable.

Step-by-Step: From Plane to Alanya Hotel

At the airport

Step 1 — Land and clear customs. Terminal 2 handles the large majority of international charter and package holiday flights from Russia, Germany, UK, Netherlands, and Ukraine. Check your boarding pass — it says "ANTALYA T2" or "ANTALYA T1". Almost all Alanya tourists use T2.

Step 2 — Collect luggage. Free Wi-Fi is available at the baggage carousel area. Connect so you can message the booking system if needed. Confirm your arrival with a quick WhatsApp while waiting for luggage.

Step 3 — Exit through customs. Follow signs for "Arrivals" / "Çıkış" (exit). After customs, you enter the main arrivals hall.

Step 4 — Find your driver. In T2: turn left after the automatic sliding doors. The private transfer waiting zone is the first area on your left, before the taxi rank. Drivers hold printed A4 name signs. In T1: waiting zone is immediately to the right after the exit doors.

If you cannot see your driver: Do not leave the arrivals hall. Send a WhatsApp to the number in your booking confirmation — response within 2 minutes. Decline offers from anyone who approaches you before you reach the sign zone.

Step 5 — Vehicle and luggage. The driver takes your luggage to the vehicle (2–3 minute walk to the car park). A sedan holds 2 standard suitcases; a minivan holds 6.

The journey

Step 6 — D400 eastbound. From the airport, the D400 runs flat through the coastal plain. You pass through the Belek zone at 43 km, then Side at 65 km. The road is dual carriageway and well-signposted.

Step 7 — Manavgat and beyond. After passing Side, you cross the Manavgat river and continue east. From here the road becomes slightly more varied — some gentle curves, some sections of single carriageway through small towns, but nothing difficult. The Taurus Mountains become more dramatic as you near Alanya.

Step 8 — Alanya arrival. The city is visible from a distance — the castle rock rising above the sea. Your driver navigates to your specific hotel. Large all-inclusive resorts (Utopia World, Granada Luxury, Eftalia) have security-checked entrances that add 3–5 minutes. Alanya city hotels are accessed directly.

Step 9 — Payment. Pay the driver on arrival at your hotel. Cash EUR is preferred. USD, GBP, and TRY are accepted. SumUp card reader available on request.

Alanya Sub-Zones: Okurcalar, Alanya Centre & Mahmutlar

This is information that most transfer guides do not provide, but it matters for journey time expectations.

Okurcalar (15 km before Alanya centre): Okurcalar is a resort zone on the D400 approximately 15 km west of the Alanya city boundary. Large resorts here include Granada Luxury Okurcalar, Eftalia Aytur, and several apartment complexes. Transfers to Okurcalar are slightly shorter — allow 80 minutes rather than 90. The price is the same as Alanya (€160 sedan) because it falls within the Alanya zone.

Alanya centre: The city centre includes the Cleopatra Beach strip, the harbour, the castle hill, and the main shopping and restaurant area. Hotels here include Utopia World, Alaiye Resort, and many mid-range city hotels. The approach through the city involves traffic lights and roundabouts — add 5 minutes compared to a resort on the bypass road.

Mahmutlar (10 km east of Alanya centre): Mahmutlar has grown significantly as a residential and rental-apartment destination. Many European long-stay visitors live here. Hotels and apartments in Mahmutlar are covered at the Alanya price (€160 sedan) and take approximately 100 minutes from the airport. Specify the Mahmutlar address or postcode at booking.

Gazipasa area: For transfers to the far eastern areas (Gazipaşa, Avsallar), these fall in extended zones — contact us for a quote as they may be priced differently.

Private Transfer vs Taxi vs Bus: Honest Comparison

HAVAS airport bus€4–€8 per personMultiple stops — 60–90 minFixed scheduleCity bus stops onlyLimited night service✅ None
Rental car€30–€80/day + fuel + parkingSelf-driveQueue at deskSelfSelf✅ None (own risk)

On the taxi option: Licensed yellow metered taxis at the official rank outside T2 are safe, but a metered taxi for a 130 km journey to Alanya would cost €120–€150 depending on traffic — and without the name sign, flight tracking, or guaranteed waiting. For a journey of this length, the price difference between a metered taxi and a fixed-price private transfer is small. The private transfer wins on certainty.

On the bus option: There is no direct airport bus to Alanya. HAVAS serves Antalya city centre only. From the city bus station, there are long-distance coaches to Alanya (operated by Kamil Koç, Metro) taking approximately 2.5–3 hours. With luggage, the total journey time would be 3.5–4 hours. Not practical for most tourists.

Shared shuttles: Some operators offer shared shuttles to Alanya at €20–€35 per person. The trade-off: waiting for other passengers, multiple hotel drop-offs, and a total journey time that often exceeds 2.5 hours. A private transfer at €160 for 1–3 people is competitive.

Night Transfer: What Changes After 22:00

Charter flights from Russia (Aeroflot, Pobeda, Ural Airlines) and Germany (Condor, TUIfly) frequently land at Antalya late at night. The Alanya corridor is one of the most common late-arrival routes.

Night surcharge: 30% added between 22:00 and 06:00 Turkey time (UTC+3). Example: sedan €160 → €208 at night. Minivan €200 → €260 at night. Disclosed at booking.

Night journey conditions:

  • The D400 is significantly quieter after 22:00 — 130 km takes 80–85 minutes at night rather than 90
  • The route is well-lit for the first 100 km; the D400 through the Manavgat–Alanya section is also lit through towns
  • Driver pool is smaller between 22:00 and 06:00 — book at least 24 hours in advance for late night arrivals
  • Night transfers are the standard for many Russian and German package tourists arriving on overnight charter flights

Flight tracking at night: works identically. Delays tracked in real time, free waiting applies.

Seasonal Guide: When to Book in Advance

| Month | Demand | Recommended notice | |-------|--------|-------------------| | January–March | Very low | 24–48 hours is fine | | April–May | Medium | 48 hours recommended | | June | High | 3 days recommended | | July–August | Peak | Book 7+ days in advance | | September–October | High | 3–5 days recommended | | November | Medium | 48 hours is fine | | December | Low | 24–48 hours is fine |

July and August: Alanya is one of Turkey's most popular summer destinations. The large resorts run at full capacity and driver demand is at its highest of the year. For families arriving on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, book at least a week in advance.

October: Alanya's shoulder season is one of its best. Sea temperature remains warm (24–26°C), hotel prices drop, and the crowds thin from mid-October. Transfer demand stays high through early October.

Travelling With Children

The 90-minute D400 journey is generally well-suited to families. The road is smooth, flat for the majority, and without the hairpin curves of a mountain transfer.

Child seats: available at no extra charge.

  • Infant seat (0–13 kg, Group 0+)
  • Toddler seat (9–18 kg, Group 1)
  • Booster seat (15–36 kg, Group 2/3)

Request by specifying the child's age and weight in booking notes. Same-day requests cannot be guaranteed.

Rest stops: the route takes 90 minutes. There are petrol stations with toilets at approximately the 50 km mark (near Belek/Side junction area) and at Manavgat. If you need a stop, tell the driver — a brief pause is easy to arrange. Budget 5–10 extra minutes if stopping.

Infants on a 90-minute journey: feeding before departure is practical. The vehicle is air-conditioned and smooth. Some parents bring a travel blanket for the air conditioning — the vehicle will be comfortable but climate-controlled, which some infants find cold.

Prams and baby equipment: a sedan comfortably fits 1 standard pram plus 2 suitcases. For a pram plus full luggage for 3+ people, book a minivan.

Luggage, Sports Equipment & Special Items

Standard luggage: a sedan holds 2 standard suitcases. A minivan holds 6. On a 90-minute journey with 4–6 passengers, book a minivan for comfort even if the passenger count is marginal.

Sports equipment: Alanya is popular for water sports (wakeboarding, kite surfing) and hiking (Taurus Mountains). Kiteboards, surfboards, and long sports bags require advance notice — minivan or minibus recommended.

Wheelchairs: standard folding wheelchairs fit in all vehicle types. Electric wheelchairs require a minivan. Accessible vehicles with ramps available with 48 hours notice.

Large groups: for groups of 9–16 people, a minibus (€320) covers everyone in one vehicle. For groups of 17+, contact us for a bus quote.

Language, Communication & Payment

Language with your driver: most Alanya transfer drivers speak basic-to-intermediate English. Russian-speaking drivers are available on request — Alanya has one of the largest Russian resident communities in Turkey, and Russian-language service is a popular requirement. Mention "Russian-speaking driver" in booking notes. German-speaking drivers available with advance notice.

If there is a communication problem: WhatsApp booking number operates 24/7. Message us and we relay to the driver.

Payment options:

  • Cash EUR — strongly preferred. Exact change appreciated but not required.
  • Cash USD / GBP — accepted, converted at fair daily rate
  • Turkish Lira (TRY) — accepted at current rate
  • Card (Visa / Mastercard) — most vehicles carry a SumUp reader. Mention at booking.
  • Russian rubles — NOT accepted. If travelling from Russia, withdraw EUR at the Antalya Airport ATMs before your transfer. ATMs are located in the arrivals hall (Garanti Bank, Yapı Kredi, İş Bankası).

Fixed prices in 2026: €160 for a sedan (1–3 passengers, 2 bags), €200 for a minivan (1–8 passengers, 6 bags), €250 for a VIP sedan, €320 for a minibus (up to 16 passengers). Where does the driver wait at Antalya Airport?

In Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall, inside the building, on the left side as you exit through the automatic sliding doors after customs and baggage claim. Drivers hold a printed A4 sign with your name. The private transfer waiting zone is before the taxi rank. If arriving at Terminal 1, the waiting zone is immediately to the right after the exit doors.

Is the road to Alanya safe and comfortable?

Yes. The D400 from the airport through Belek and Side is a flat dual carriageway. East of Side, the road remains dual carriageway until approximately 20 km before Alanya, where it transitions to a single carriageway in some sections with curves as the Taurus foothills approach the coast. The road is well-maintained and the scenic mountain backdrop is one of the highlights of the journey from about the 100 km mark.

What is Okurcalar and how does it affect the transfer price?

Okurcalar is a resort area approximately 15 km west of Alanya centre, on the D400. Hotels here — such as Granada Luxury Okurcalar and Eftalia Aytur — are reached before Alanya proper, saving about 10 minutes of drive time. However, Okurcalar is within the Alanya zone and the price is the same: €160 sedan.

What about Mahmutlar — is it included in the Alanya price?

Yes. Mahmutlar is a residential and resort area approximately 10 km east of Alanya centre. Hotels and apartments in Mahmutlar are covered at the standard Alanya price (€160 sedan) and add approximately 10 minutes to the journey. Mention Mahmutlar or your specific hotel address at booking.

Is there a night surcharge?

Can I pay in euros, dollars or Turkish lira?

Cash payment in EUR is strongly preferred. USD and GBP are also accepted. Turkish lira (TRY) is accepted at the current rate. Most vehicles carry a SumUp card reader for Visa/Mastercard. Russian rubles are NOT accepted — if travelling from Russia, withdraw EUR at the Antalya Airport ATMs in the arrivals hall.

What if my flight is delayed?

The booking system tracks your flight in real time. If your flight is delayed, the driver adjusts automatically — you are not charged extra. Free waiting of 60 minutes is included after the scheduled landing time. For delays beyond 60 minutes, contact us on WhatsApp.

Is a child seat available for the 90-minute journey?

Yes. Child seats (infant, toddler, and booster) are available at no extra charge. The 90-minute journey on a smooth motorway is generally well-tolerated by children. Request the seat type (and child's age/weight) in the booking notes — cannot be guaranteed for same-day requests.

Can I book a return transfer at the same time?

Yes — add a return in the notes or book two separate transfers. The return price from Alanya to Antalya Airport is the same: €160 sedan, €200 minivan. For July–August, book both legs when you book your holiday — driver availability fills quickly.

Is Alanya worth visiting for a day trip from Belek or Side?

Alanya is a popular day trip for tourists staying in Belek or Side. The castle, Cleopatra Beach, and the old town are worth a full day. However, this transfer service covers airport-to-hotel routes — for a day trip from another resort, contact us for an inter-resort quote. The Belek–Alanya route costs €130 sedan.
