Antalya Airport to Alanya Transfer: Complete Guide 2026

Antalya Airport to Alanya: 130 km along the D400 east. The route is coastal highway the entire way — no mountain passes, no narrow roads, no town centres. It is one of the most straightforward long-distance transfers in the region.

Journey time: 90 minutes in normal conditions. Peak July–August (especially Saturday 09:00–12:00): 100–110 minutes.

Night arrivals: D400 is empty between 22:00 and 06:00. Alanya in 78 minutes.

Sub-zone pricing: not all Alanya hotels are at the same distance.

Step 1 — Flight tracking starts 3 hours before scheduled arrival. Any airline-reported delay automatically notifies your driver. You do nothing.

Step 2 — Landing. 60-minute free waiting clock begins at actual touchdown.

Step 3 — Baggage reclaim, Terminal 2. Allow 20–30 minutes in peak summer. Charter flights from the UK and Russia arrive with full aircraft — carousel queues are normal.

Step 4 — Customs. Green channel for standard holiday luggage. Two minutes.

Step 5 — Arrivals Hall, Terminal 2. Exit through the automatic sliding doors. Turn left. Your driver stands in the row of transfer drivers against the left wall, inside the building, before the exit to the car park. Printed sign with your name.

Step 6 — Vehicle and loading. 5-minute walk to the car park. Driver loads luggage.

Step 7 — The 90-minute drive. The D400 east: Lara (18 km), Belek (43 km), Side/Manavgat (65 km), Okurcalar (115 km), Alanya (130 km). The road is coastal — in daylight you catch sea views. At night, the illuminated Alanya castle rock is visible from 20 km out.

Driver can stop at Aspendos petrol station (near Serik, km 42) if you need a toilet break, water, or a snack. Just ask.

Step 8 — Hotel arrival. Driver drops at the hotel main entrance. Pay in EUR cash or card. For Kleopatra Beach hotels, the driver knows the specific drop-off for each hotel on the strip.

Alanya has its own small airport: Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP), located 45 km east of Alanya centre.

GZP handles a small number of scheduled and charter flights — primarily Pegasus Airlines domestic routes, some Turkish Airlines services, and a limited number of charter arrivals in peak summer. Most international tourist flights do NOT land at GZP.

The vast majority of tourists flying to Alanya land at Antalya Airport (AYT), 130 km away. UK package tour operators (TUI, Jet2), Russian charter operators (Nordwind, Pegas), and most European carriers all use AYT.

### Sedan — best for 1–3 adults, standard luggage

Toyota Avensis, Skoda Octavia, or similar. The 90-minute journey is comfortable in a sedan if the group is 1–3 people. The main constraint is boot space — three large suitcases fill a sedan boot; a fourth requires a roof net or minivan.

### Minivan — recommended for families and groups of 4–6

Ford Transit Custom, VW Caravelle, or similar. The minivan becomes clearly cost-effective at 4+ passengers: €200 divided by 5 is €40 per person. For a 90-minute journey with children, the extra space is valuable.

### Minibus — for groups of 7–12

Mercedes Sprinter at €320. For tour groups, school parties, or extended families. Note: a minibus is not cost-effective for groups under 7 from Alanya — the minivan is a better fit.

### VIP Sedan — business travel and medical transfers

Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series. For passengers who need premium comfort for the 90-minute journey, or medical tourists travelling post-procedure.

Alanya is the route where private transfer is most competitive relative to alternatives. The 130 km distance gives dishonest taxi drivers significant opportunity to inflate the fare — documented overcharges of €300–500 have been reported on TripAdvisor and Reddit r/Turkey. A fixed €160 eliminates this entirely.

British package tourists (TUI, Jet2): most UK package holidays to Alanya include a shared coach transfer in the price. If yours does, use it — it covers this route with no additional cost. If you are booking independently, private transfer is faster and simpler.

June–September: peak season. Alanya's Kleopatra Beach area is busy from 08:00 onward. Saturday morning D400 traffic (checkout rush from Belek resorts) adds 10–20 minutes on the Antalya–Serik section. Night arrivals: 78 minutes with empty roads.

October–November: Alanya's shoulder season is longer than other resorts — warm sea until late October, fewer crowds. The D400 is much lighter. Transfer times return to 90 minutes reliably.

Alanya areas:

Alanya castle rock: visible from the D400 as you approach from the west — an enormous Seljuk-era fortress on a 250m cliff. It is the defining landmark of the town and a useful visual indicator that you are 10–15 minutes from your hotel.

English in Alanya: Alanya has the highest concentration of British package tourists in Turkey. Hotels, restaurants, and shops on Kleopatra Beach cater extensively to English speakers. German and Russian speakers are also well-served.
