Antalya Airport to Kaş Transfer: Price, Journey & Essential Tips 2026

Total distance: 200 km from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Kaş town centre.

Typical duration: 155 minutes — approximately 2 hours 35 minutes. Allow 3 hours if your flight departs before 11:00, as the mountain road section is slower with morning lorry traffic.

### First half: D400 coastal motorway (0–130 km)

From the airport, the D400 heads west past Antalya city and Konyaaltı, then into the Taurus foothills. This section is fast and flat — 70–90 km/h most of the way. You pass through Kemer at roughly the 45-minute mark, where the highway narrows.

### Second half: mountain road to Kaş (130–200 km)

After Kemer and the Elmalı junction, the D400 becomes a two-lane cliff road above the sea. Speed drops to 50–60 km/h through the curves. The scenery is extraordinary — limestone walls, turquoise water below, Lycian ruins in the hillside. Motion sickness sufferers should take medication before departure.

Worst-case time: July–August: allow 3 hours 15 minutes. Lorries from the Elmalı plateau cause the longest delays — overtaking is unsafe for stretches of this road.

Rest stop: Your driver pauses briefly near Finike, roughly two-thirds of the way. A full 2.5-hour mountain drive without a stop is unreasonable — ask whenever you need one.

Why Kaş costs more than Side or Belek: 200 km vs 65 km and 43 km respectively, plus the mountain road adds fuel and time. The fixed price removes all uncertainty.

Most generic transfer guides describe Kaş as "a 2.5 hour drive." That is accurate but incomplete.

After Kemer: The road rises sharply into the Taurus. You are now on the coastal cliff road running through Olympos, Çıralı, and Finike. Some sections have no barriers above steep drops to the sea. The driving is careful and professional — your driver knows this road — but it is a mountain road, not a motorway.

Lorries: This road serves agricultural traffic from the Elmalı plateau. Heavy vehicles are common, especially in the morning. Your driver will pace behind slow vehicles when overtaking is unsafe. This is not the driver being cautious; the road is genuinely not safe to rush.

Motion sickness: This is the most challenging route on the AntalyaTransfers.co network for carsick passengers. Sitting in the front seat helps significantly. Anti-nausea medication taken 30 minutes before departure is the most reliable solution.

Night transfers: The mountain road is calmer at night — fewer lorries, easier to see oncoming lights on curves. Night transfers to Kaş are entirely manageable.

The Kaş descent: The final approach to Kaş is a hairpin descent into the town. The view from the top — the harbour, the peninsula, Meis island visible 7 km offshore — is one of the best arrival moments in the region.

Vehicle restrictions: The historic centre has no-vehicle zones. Your driver brings you as close as physically possible to your hotel — usually within 100 metres. For boutique hotels on steep lanes, the driver helps with luggage to the hotel entrance or meets hotel staff at the car.

Wheelchair accessibility: The old town of Kaş is not wheelchair accessible. Steep cobblestone streets, stepped alleys, and sharp gradients make navigation with a wheelchair very difficult. The flat area around the harbour is more manageable. If you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, book it in advance and contact your accommodation about internal access.

Prams: A pushchair on Kaş cobblestones requires effort. A front-facing carrier is more practical for the old town.

Visitors arriving by gulet from Göcek, Fethiye, or the Greek islands often need transfers from Kaş Marina to the airport. The driver meets you at the marina gate — he cannot enter the marina itself due to the security barrier.

State "Kaş Marina Gate" as your pickup point at booking, or message your driver via WhatsApp the morning of collection. Allow 10 extra minutes for marina fee settlement before departure. The drive to the airport is the same 2 hours 35 minutes.

The Greek island of Meis (officially Kastellorizo) lies 7 km offshore from Kaş. A 10-minute daily ferry crossing runs in season (April–October), typically departing at 10:00 and 16:00 in both directions.

If you are planning a Meis day trip: Book your airport return transfer for the day after your planned visit — not the same day. Sea conditions occasionally delay the ferry, and missing your return transfer because the 16:00 boat ran 2 hours late is easily avoided.

Arriving from Meis: State "Kaş Marina Gate" or your hotel address for the airport transfer pickup.

Visa note: The ferry crosses into Greek territory. EU passport holders: no visa required. Other nationalities: check Schengen requirements before booking the crossing.

Kaş has excellent scuba diving — Byzantine shipwrecks, swim-throughs, and walls to 40+ metres. Two well-known centres are useful as location references:

Bougainville Travel: On the main harbour front near the port. Mention this to your driver or in a WhatsApp message if your hotel is nearby.

Dolphin Scuba: On the western side of the peninsula near Küçük Çakıl beach.

Both are known to all local drivers and pinpoint your location precisely in a town where street addresses can be vague.

2. Pass passport control and customs.

3. Exit through automatic sliding doors into the arrivals hall.

4. Turn left immediately — private transfer drivers stand in a row, each with a printed A4 name sign. This is the first area on the left, inside the hall, before the taxi rank outside.

5. Cannot find your driver: Connect to AYT-Free-Wifi and send a WhatsApp to the number in your booking confirmation. Response within 2 minutes.

Terminal 1 note: If your boarding pass shows T1 (domestic connections), drivers wait at the exit from the baggage hall. T1 is a 5-minute walk from T2.

Taxi note: Licensed yellow taxis at the official rank are metered. On a 200 km mountain road, the meter can reach €250–300. Unofficial drivers inside the terminal offering flat €200–250 are unregulated. At the price difference, the private transfer's fixed rate, name-sign meeting, and flight tracking justify the choice.

For morning flights (before 11:00): Depart Kaş by 06:30–07:00. Mountain lorry traffic starts early. Allow 3 hours, ideally 3 hours 15 minutes.
