Quick Answer
Child seats are free on all Antalya Airport private transfers — infant, toddler, and booster — but must be requested at booking (not on the day). A family minivan (Mercedes Vito, 1–6 passengers) costs €105 to Belek, €130 to Side, €75 to Kemer — fixed price. Prams fold and fit in the sedan boot alongside 2 suitcases; a minivan fits a pram plus 4–5 bags. Your driver waits in Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall, left side before the automatic exit doors, holding a sign with your name. The 60-minute free waiting period covers any delays in baggage or the baby changing room.
Child Seat Availability and How to Request
Every private transfer booking on AntalyaTransfers.co can include a child seat at no extra charge. There is no hidden fee, no add-on cost, and no charge for fitting the seat.
The three seat types available:
| Seat type | Weight range | Age guide | Group | |-----------|-------------|-----------|-------| | Infant seat (rear-facing) | 0–13 kg | Newborn to ~15 months | 0+ | | Toddler seat (forward-facing) | 9–18 kg | 1–4 years | 1 | | Booster seat (with or without back) | 15–36 kg | 4–12 years | 2/3 |
How to request:
When completing your booking, use the "notes" or "special requests" field. State:
- The child's age
- Approximate weight
- The seat type you need (or let us recommend based on age/weight)
Example note: "Need infant seat for 8-month-old, approx 8 kg."
The most important rule: request at booking, not on the day. Seat availability is confirmed per booking — if you message at 14:00 for a 16:00 pickup, we may not be able to source the specific seat type in time. Same-day requests are sometimes possible but are not guaranteed.
Using your own seat: if you travel with your own car seat, bring it and the driver will install it. All Mercedes E-Class sedans and Vito minivans have ISOFIX anchor points in the rear seats. Mention "bringing own seat" in the notes so the driver does not bring one unnecessarily.
Turkish law on child seats: Turkish road law requires appropriate child restraints for children under 150 cm. The requirement is enforceable and private transfer operators are licensed vehicles — the driver is obligated to fit the seat correctly. Your child's safety is not a nicety; it is a legal and practical requirement.
Which Vehicle for a Family?
Choosing the right vehicle depends on the number of people, luggage volume, and whether you have a pram or other equipment.
Sedan (Mercedes E-Class or similar):
- Seats: 1–3 passengers (plus driver)
- Boot: 3 standard suitcases, OR 2 suitcases plus 1 folded pram, OR 1 suitcase plus 1 pram plus cabin bags
- Child seat installation: 1–2 rear seats available for seats
- Best for: couple with 1 child and standard luggage; solo parent with 1 child
Minivan (Mercedes Vito):
- Seats: 1–6 passengers
- Boot: 6 standard suitcases, OR 4 suitcases plus 1 large pram, OR 3 suitcases plus 1 double buggy
- Child seat installation: multiple rear seats available; can fit 2 child seats simultaneously
- Best for: family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children) with normal luggage; couple with twins; family with a pram and 4+ bags
Minibus (Mercedes Sprinter, 8–16 seats):
- For groups of 7+ passengers
- Large luggage area
- Child seats available but must be pre-arranged specifically
- Best for: extended family travel, two families sharing, group with multiple children
Decision guide:
- 2 adults + 1 child + 2 suitcases + 1 folded pram → Sedan (just fits)
- 2 adults + 2 children + 4 suitcases + 1 pram → Minivan
- 2 adults + 3 children + 5 suitcases + 1 pram → Minivan (tight — note it at booking)
- 2 families (4 adults + 4 children) → Minibus
When in doubt, book the larger vehicle. The price difference between a sedan and minivan is €25–€35 — not worth the stress of trying to fit everything in a too-small boot.
Transfer Prices for Families
Family pricing by route (2026):
| Destination | Sedan (1–3 pax) | Minivan (1–6 pax) | Minibus (7–16 pax) | |-------------|-----------------|--------------------|--------------------| | Lara Beach | €25 | €35 | On request | | Konyaaltı | €25 | €35 | On request | | Belek | €80 | €105 | On request | | Side | €100 | €130 | On request | | Kemer | €55 | €75 | On request | | Alanya | €120 | €130 | On request | | Kaş | €160 | €190 | On request |
Night surcharge (22:00–06:00): 30% added. Minivan to Belek at night: €137. Minivan to Side at night: €169.
Child seats: always €0 extra — included in the vehicle price.
Pram storage: included — no extra charge for the pram.
Prices are fixed at booking. No meter, no negotiation, no surprise charges on arrival.
Prams, Pushchairs, and Baby Equipment
The question families ask most: will everything fit?
Standard (compact) pushchair / buggy: fits folded in the boot of a sedan (e.g. Bugaboo Bee, Babyzen Yoyo, iCandy Raspberry). Takes up the space of approximately 1 suitcase.
Full-size travel system: larger boot footprint (e.g. Bugaboo Fox, iCandy Peach, Uppababy Vista). Fits in a sedan boot but leaves room for only 1–2 standard suitcases. Book a minivan if you have 3+ bags.
Double buggy / tandem pram: requires a minivan. A Bugaboo Donkey or similar wide double buggy will not fit in a sedan boot alongside meaningful luggage.
Travel cot: folded, fits in sedan boot alongside 1 suitcase. A larger travel cot (BabyBjörn) requires a minivan if combined with normal luggage.
Baby carrier / sling: fits in a bag — no impact on luggage calculation.
Baby bath, bouncer, or travel high chair: count each as a standard luggage item for boot calculation.
Mention everything at booking. The booking notes field is there for this. "2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant seat needed (6 months, 7 kg), 1 folded Bugaboo Bee, 3 suitcases, 2 cabin bags" gives the driver everything they need to confirm vehicle fit. This takes 30 seconds and prevents any arrival stress.
Step-by-Step: Family Arrival at Antalya Airport
In the terminal
Step 1 — Land and clear immigration. With a baby or toddler, choose the immigration queue that is moving fastest — all queues lead to the same biometric scanner. Most families are processed in 15–25 minutes.
Step 2 — Baggage carousel. While waiting for luggage, this is a good time to feed the baby or change a diaper. The baggage carousel area in T2 has space to put a bag down. The toilets with baby-changing facilities are off the main carousel hall — look for the signage.
Step 3 — Baby changing in the arrivals hall. Changing facilities are in the post-customs toilets in T2. The facilities are clean and include a fold-down changing table, bin, and basic supplies. If you need to use these before meeting your driver, you have time — the 60-minute waiting period covers typical delays.
Step 4 — Exit through customs. Follow the green "nothing to declare" route. With a pram or pushchair, use the wide lane on the left (accessible route) — it bypasses the standard turnstile.
Step 5 — Find your driver. Turn left immediately after the automatic sliding doors in T2. Drivers with name signs stand in a row before the taxi rank. With children and luggage, take your time scanning the signs. Your driver will assist with the pram and bags immediately.
Step 6 — Walk to vehicle. The car park is 2–3 minutes from the exit. If you have a young child who cannot walk, your driver can take the luggage trolley while you carry the child. The car park is covered and flat.
The vehicle and journey
Step 7 — Child seat installation. The driver installs the child seat before you load the luggage. Check that the harness fits your child correctly — drivers are trained in seat installation but you know your child's fit best.
Step 8 — Loading the pram. The driver folds the pram (if needed) and loads it in the boot. If the pram has a carry-cot attachment, disassemble it — the frame and cot go in separately and usually fit alongside the bags.
Step 9 — The journey. Relax. The D400 routes are smooth motorway driving. There are no sharp bends, no steep hills, no sudden braking situations on the Lara, Belek, or Side routes. The Kemer route has some gentle curves on the mountain section — manageable for most children.
Step 10 — Rest stop if needed. For journeys over 60 minutes (Side, Alanya, Kaş), ask the driver to stop at a petrol station. There are 24-hour stations on all routes. A 5-minute stop costs nothing extra.
Journey Conditions by Route
Different routes have very different characteristics for families:
Lara Beach (25 km, 25 minutes): The route goes directly along the D400 east from the airport — no mountains, no curves. The shortest possible transfer. A sleeping baby will barely stir. Even at its worst (summer Saturday morning), it is 35 minutes.
Belek (43 km, 45 minutes): Entirely D400 dual carriageway. Flat, smooth, well-maintained. An overtired toddler can be settled in the car seat within 10 minutes. The resort hotels all have easy vehicle access. Allow 55 minutes in July–August Saturday mornings.
Side (65 km, 65 minutes): D400 east, same road continuing beyond Belek. Smooth and flat throughout. At 65 minutes, a child who fell asleep early in the journey will still be asleep at arrival.
Kemer (35 km, 35 minutes): D400 west then the O-21 south towards Kemer. The O-21 has a mountain section through the Taurus foothills — gentle curves, well-maintained, but noticeably different from the flat D400. Children prone to motion sickness should be pre-medicated. The scenery (pine-forested mountains) is impressive but is more interesting to adults.
Alanya (130 km, 110 minutes): Long journey — plan for it. For a baby, this is one sleep cycle. For a toddler, bring entertainment. The road is D400 east all the way — smooth but long. A rest stop around the 60-minute mark is sensible. Worst-case (summer traffic around Side): 130 minutes.
Night Flights with Children
Many charter flights carrying families arrive late at night — particularly from Russia, Germany, Poland, and the UK. Here is what to prepare for:
Child seat at night: exactly the same availability as in the day. The requirement to pre-book is the same. Night does not change anything about child seat policy.
Sleeping children in the arrivals hall: at 01:00, the arrivals hall in T2 is quieter and calmer than at midday. Shorter queues, less noise. If your baby is asleep in the carrier, you can move through immigration and customs without waking them.
Night surcharge with children: the 30% night surcharge applies to the vehicle price, not per person. A minivan to Belek at night is €137 — the same price whether you have 2 adults or 2 adults plus 3 children. Child seats remain free.
Night journey for children: most children sleep through a night transfer. The smooth motorway and the gentle movement of the vehicle are conducive to sleep. This is often the least stressful part of a night travel day for families with young children.
Book well in advance for night family transfers. Not just because of driver availability (as with any night booking) but because child seat confirmation takes longer overnight. Book 48–72 hours minimum for midnight arrivals with children.
Feeding, Rest Stops, and Comfort
Breastfeeding: the vehicle is private — just your family and the driver. Breastfeed freely. The journey to most resorts is under 60 minutes. If the baby needs feeding urgently, ask the driver to pull over at the next safe spot (there are laybys on the D400) — they will without charge.
Bottle-feeding: the airport arrivals hall has a café (Starbucks and Turkish bakery) where you can get hot water for a formula bottle before leaving the terminal. There are no guarantees of a microwave in the car. A vacuum flask of hot water is practical for long journeys.
Nappies/diapers: changing facilities in the airport arrivals hall. During the journey, a petrol station stop can be requested. There is no changing table in the vehicle.
Car sickness: the most vulnerable route is Kemer (mountain curves). If your child is prone to motion sickness: seat them in the middle rear seat (most stable position), face forward, ensure fresh air (crack a window — ask the driver), and travel with an appropriate medication if your paediatrician recommends it.
Screen entertainment: the vehicle does not have a seat-back screen, but the Wi-Fi (available on request) allows streaming on a tablet. Download content before the flight as a backup.
Temperature in the vehicle: all vehicles are air-conditioned. In summer (July–August), the car will be cool — bring a light layer for the baby. In winter (December–March), the car is heated.
Private Transfer vs Taxi vs Bus with Children
| Option | Price | Journey | Wait time | Drop-off | Night | Overcharge risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (AntalyaTransfers.co)Recommended | €80 sedan / €105 minivan | Direct — no stops | Free 60 min (flight tracking) | Door-to-door | +30% (stated upfront) | ✅ None — fixed price |
| Licensed yellow taxi (official rank) | €35–€55 metered | Direct | 0 min (queue at rank) | Door-to-door | Meter runs at night rate | ⚠️ Low — use metered only |
| Unlicensed tout / "private taxi" | €40–€120 negotiated | Direct | 0 min | Door-to-door | Unregulated | 🚨 High — common tourist scam |
| HAVAS airport bus | €4–€8 per person | Multiple stops — 60–90 min | Fixed schedule | City bus stops only | Limited night service | ✅ None |
| Rental car | €30–€80/day + fuel + parking | Self-drive | Queue at desk | Self | Self | ✅ None (own risk) |
The taxi option with children: licensed metered taxis at the official rank are generally safe, but they are not equipped with child seats. A taxi driver cannot legally carry children under 150 cm without appropriate restraints — and most taxis do not carry child seats. In practice, enforcement varies, but this is a genuine safety gap. The practical answer is: do not take a taxi with a baby or toddler unless you are in a genuine emergency.
HAVAS bus with children: HAVAS airport buses go to Antalya city centre only — not to Belek, Side, Alanya, or Kemer. They have no child seat provision. They are completely impractical for families with significant luggage and young children. This is not a viable option.
The private transfer advantage for families: the child seat guarantee, the guaranteed luggage space, the fixed price, and the door-to-door service together make private transfer the only practical option for most families with young children.
Top Family Resorts and Their Transfers
Belek (43 km, 45 min, sedan €80 / minivan €105): Turkey's most family-friendly resort zone. Cornelia De Luxe, Rixos Premium Belek, Gloria Golf Resort, and Limak Atlantis all have extensive children's facilities. The D400 route is the smoothest for children.
Side (65 km, 65 min, sedan €100 / minivan €130): Strong family resort offering — Sunmelia Beach and Barut Hemera are particularly family-oriented. The 65-minute journey on the D400 is manageable with a pre-fed baby or entertained toddler.
Lara Beach (25 km, 25 min, sedan €25 / minivan €35): The closest resort area to the airport — the shortest transfer, ideal for very young babies or anxious toddlers. Titanic Beach Lara, Delphin Imperial, and Papillon Zeugma are popular family choices.
Kemer (35 km, 35 min, sedan €55 / minivan €75): Quieter resort atmosphere, more suited to families who prefer a lower-key environment than Belek or Lara. The mountain section of the O-21 adds interest for older children.
Alanya (130 km, 110 min, sedan €120 / minivan €130): The long journey is the main consideration for families with very young children. Allow for a rest stop. The resort hotels (Aska Lara, Granada Luxury) have very strong children's clubs and facilities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are child seats free? Yes. Always. No extra charge. Must be requested at booking.
Which seat for a 2-year-old? Typically a toddler (Group 1) seat — but weight matters more than age. At 2, most children are 10–14 kg, which is Group 1. State the weight at booking.
Can I bring my own car seat? Yes. All vehicles have ISOFIX. Mention it in the notes.
What if we have a twin pram? Book a minivan. A side-by-side double buggy will not fit in a sedan.
Is there a baby changing room at the airport? Yes — in the T2 arrivals hall toilets, post-customs, and in the landside shopping area.
How far in advance should I book for a family transfer? At least 48 hours — 72 hours if you have multiple child seats or unusual equipment requests. In July–August, book at least 7 days ahead.
Can the driver help with the pram and luggage? Yes — the driver is there to assist with bags and equipment. This is standard, not optional.
What if my toddler gets car sick? Seat them in the middle rear, ensure air circulation, and bring appropriate medication. The Kemer route has the most curves; all others are flat.
We have 5 children. Is one vehicle enough? A minivan seats 6 passengers — 2 adults and 4 children, or 5 children and 2 adults is over capacity. For 5 children plus 2 adults, book a minibus or two vehicles.
Do you cover all Antalya resort areas? Yes — all hotels in Belek, Side, Alanya, Kemer, Lara, and Antalya city are served. See the Antalya Airport to Belek Transfer guide and Antalya Airport to Side Transfer guide for zone-specific details.
Payment with children — do I need to count out change with a toddler on my hip? Card payment is available in most vehicles — mention it at booking so the driver brings the SumUp reader.
What if I have a premature baby with a specialist car seat (rear-facing Group 0)? We can accommodate specialist seats. Contact us directly before booking rather than using the notes field — this requires a specific vehicle and seat confirmation.
